Holy Eucharist

The ritual, sacramental action of thanksgiving to God which constitutes the principal Christian liturgical celebration of and communion in the paschal mystery of Christ. The liturgical action called the Eucharist is also traditionally known as the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is one of the seven sacraments of the Church; the Holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is at the heart of the Church's life.

Our way of thinking is attuned to the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in turn confirms our way of thinking.

The reception of First Holy Communion is open to all children in 2nd grade or older. Only children who have been enrolled in a minimum of two consecutive years of Catholic Religious Education are eligible. Please contact the office for more information.

Requirements for Participation in Eucharist Preparation

1. The child has completed at least one year of catechesis in either a parish Religious Education program or Catholic school.
2. The family is registered as a member of this parish. If your family is not registered, please complete a Parishioner Registration Form or come by the office and fill one out.
3. Preparation for parent/child takes place in the parish in which the family is a member.

Requirements for Reception of the Sacrament of Eucharist

1. Student has been baptized.
2. Student must be in a state of grace.
3. Student is able to understand that during the Mass, the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Requirements for Participation in the Holy Eucharist

1. The student must actively practice their faith (including weekly attendance at Mass).
2. Continuous attendance in a parish Religious Education program (CCD).

Acción ritual y sacramental de acción de gracias a Dios que constituye la principal celebración litúrgica cristiana y la comunión en el misterio pascual de Cristo. La acción litúrgica llamada Eucaristía también se conoce tradicionalmente como el Santo Sacrificio de la Misa. Es uno de los siete sacramentos de la Iglesia; la Sagrada Eucaristía completa la iniciación cristiana. La celebración dominical de la Eucaristía está en el corazón de la vida de la Iglesia.

La preparación para la Primera Comunión está abierta a todos los niños de 2º grado o mayores. Solo los niños que han estado matriculados en un mínimo de dos años consecutivos de Educación Religiosa Católica son elegibles. Comuníquese con la oficina para obtener más información.

Requisitos para participar en la preparación a la Comunión

1. El niño(a) ha completado al menos un año de catecismo en esta parroquia u otra o está en un programa de educación religiosa en una escuela Católica.
2. La familia está registrada como miembro de esta parroquia. Si no están registrados, favor de llenar la hoja de inscripción o pueden pasar a la oficina para llenarla.
3. La preparación de padres e hijos toma lugar en la parroquia en que la familia es miembro.

Requisitos para poder recibir el sacramento de Eucaristía

1. El estudiante debe estar bautizado.
2. El estudiante debe estar en estado de gracia.
3. El estudiante debe ser capaz de entender que durante la Misa, el pan y vino se convierten en el Cuerpo y Sangre de Jesús.

Requisitos para la participación en la Sagrada Eucaristía

1. El estudiante debe practicar su fe activamente (incluyendo asistencia a Misa cada semana).
2. Asistencia continua en un programa de Educación Religiosa en una parroquia (CCD).
